    Amberjack Size Limit?

    hey all we got a 45cm amberjack out off moreton on the wkend as we couldnt find a size limit for them in the dpi thing that we printed out we let it go. was just wondering if anyone knew if there was a size limit and bag limit for these critters so as we know for next time?

    Hey there, I think you could have kept it, according to the fisheries regulations, amberjack are not listed as a regulated species, either by size or number. But I suppose a call to the DPI would confirm that.

    The only member of the Seriola family, amberjack, samsons and yellowtail kingfish, that are regulated are the yellowtail and they have to be 50cm with no bag limit.

    i think i read somewhere it is a legal limit of 50 or 75cm and bag limit of 5 but i could be wrong as i don't target them.

    I actually sent a email to the dpi not so long ago to confirm for myself... there is no limit
