    Unhappy t'ville?

me & the young falla hit the ross river today. we put in a good effort a couple of hours live baiting, than a couple more using soft plastics& hard bodies. moved around alot had some very good archs on the sounder with some good structre end result a big fat 0! the water was nice & clear & thats from the mouth to the rocks were the power lines go over, who has been looking for the switch to turn the bloody wind off one of u guy's must know where it is. as soon as it dies down weather it be mid week or not i'm gone to hell with work! alot of boats (big ones) in the river like everyone just wanna get it wet, there's a big hole in the ramp so be carefull when putting in. on the bright side the water is getting cold & the mack's will be lining up to be caught.

Bad luck Ron. I was going to head out and do an all nighter around Maggie, but common sense got the better of me and I decided to play it safe with the overnight winds. Then I was up before dawn today to get the boat out chasing Macs this morning, but as soon as I walked outside I nearly got blown off my feet, the wind was howling at my place.

I'd be up for a mid week fish, the boss has given me the all clear to have a couple of days off on short notice if there's a break in the weather so I can take my 70 yr old grandfather out for a day on the water.

    Same here.

I'm eyeing off tomorrow for an early morning fish at West Point. Looking as the AIMS weather stations, the last 3 days, the wind's been getting down below 10kts between around 5-9am.

Not long but, long enough to wet a line and hopefully hear a screaming reel...

    Cheers

    Re: t'ville?

yeah thats why I'm waiting for a break in the weather, my young back can take the punishment, but at 70, though he's an old hard man from the bush, I don't think he'll last a second. Also, he is very prone to getting seasick, much like Kev Mozza, the slightest rocking of the boat can make him queasy, so he'll be eating kwells like they're M&M's. He's stuck in Claremont atm (car trouble and won't be here til Wednesday, and looking at the forecast, it his fault we've got 25knt winds all weekend....lol

    Re: t'ville?

Thats why they're hungry. It because the weather's been too lousy to let us go and 'feed' them

    Re: t'ville?

well not to jinx it, but this weekend is shaping up pretty good, so either day I'm heading out, though it still might be a bit rough for my grandad, but I'll see what he reckons. It will either be a Saturday or Sunday day session, or a Saturday night sesh, can't get monday off now, another bloke will be away for work, so we'll be one man down.

    Re: t'ville?

well seabreeze has the wind at 10-15's all day saturday, and the BOM has them at 5-15 inshore, 15-25 offshore. I'll only be sticking around maggie so it'll be Ok for me, especially on the north side. I will probably be launching at around 5-6am from the coastguard ramp, and I might make a full day of it, or at least until I run out of bait.
