Favourite trolling is with a 600mm ribbony (wolf herring) or 1kg watsons bonito or tailor slow as you can go...as for lures the big rapala red head white body or mackerel coloured biggest lazer pro, a billy bonito or a giant trembler as fast as you can until they start popping out of the water and then back off until they go under again and that is their best speed.. at least in this area.

Late summer ,early autumn, trolling live slimmies, frigate mackeral or small mack tuna around the schools of feeding tuna. In the calm mornings you will often see an oil slick amongst the feeding tuna. It is a dead set give away that a big mack has slammed one of the careless outside fish. Love it.

big lures anything over 150mm like laser pros rapala magnums scorpions bibless lures colours blue and or silver and red and white for speed 6 knotts is minimum then livies dual bridal rigged as slow as you can go with bait might use a small peice of single strand but on lures only 80ld mono never lost a fish to a bight off on a lure
happy hunting nothing beats the sound of a strike on a fast trolled lure

My lure to date has been a Rapala x-rap x-deep diver (30ft) in the pilchard colour (lightish blue with dots) trolled between 4 and 6kts. caught school, spotty and spanish on this lure.

I love trolling as well. It is my favourite fishing style. I use a mix of hard bodied minnows. Rapala X-Rap 30's, Mackeral Maulers, Halco Laser Pro's, Halco Giant Tremblers and now I have just gotten onto the River2Sea Killer Vib.
