Thread: Please assist with Fish ID

Re: Please assist with Fish ID

OK, this is a tad confusing with posts in two places, it is NOT a Sweep, it IS a Blackfish (Girella Tricuspedata) they will not be dark or have stripes if caught at night or over light sand, when they are light they do look a bit like their relatives the Silver Drummer, but they are very different, caught thousands of them at night on Prawns and Nippers, they are a very common catch if you know how and when to fish for them at night.

Yeah they can be pretty nasty if you try eating them whole. I once cut my teeth on a savage lamb chop
