Only a new comer to fishing the pin area , during a recent cruise around ,family day out (you all know the one we have to have to maintaine the harmoneous balance)visually saw a ledge outside the Swan Bay entrance looks like a great spot to drift a few baits down on towards the slacker parts of the tide.Is this worth a go? And am I looking at a few bream or can I up the gear and expect something to give us a bit of what for ? Any advise would be appreciated, thanks.

Re: jumping pin ledge
Fish towards the bank (white sign) for decent tarwhine and bream and big long toms, and fish the side of the hole for greenbacks and jew. You have to pick your time and tides though, as it races through there. You are also competing with hordes of natural bait (herring and hardyheads), that school up just over the top of the ledge at times. Don't dangle the toes in the water as I've encountered some big bullies there.
If you beach the boat there and fish inside the mangroves over the clear white sand, there's some stonking whiting at times.
My personal opinion is that it's over-rated and there are better, less fished places, in the area. When I say "over-rated" I mean that it's a very hit and miss place, when it's "on" it can be red hot, but when it's not, it's hard to lose a bait off the hook.
good luck
