Fish ID Please

Can anyone tell me what sort of fish this is? Caought it at Caloundra 12 Mile with heaps of 20cm reds and red throat sweetlip.

My fish tank is getting very full, but you can all come for a BBQ when they grow up!!

Looks like a harlequin fish.Its a member of the wrasse family

Its a Harlequin Tuskfish (Choerodon fasciatus)
One that size is nearly full grown and worth a lot of money in the aquarium trade.

I won't say how much its worth because it would spoil your day.

My brother paid $85 for a 5cm specimen 3 years ago.

He informed me that one the size TCSunCoast caught would be "name your own price" upwards of $200

Pays to know your fish and it is handy if you have a live bait tank on your boat.

Yep, its a Harlequin Tuskfish. I had one in a saltwater aquarium years ago.

it is illegal to take fish from the ocean to put in your fish tank without a license!!
especially if you are selling them!!

Dont get caught!! but when you do dont complain about the rather large and painful consequences!!

I would check with the dpi but i think you are allowed to take 5 fish for the tank and yes you are not allowed to sell them.
