Two dogs, to tell you the truth, I wouldn't have a clue, it would be a total guess,
While we were at anchor, there was a sea snake swimming around us, Mark said if your out fishing and you see one, there is always a reef near by, thats where they live, so sound around. Sorry I can't be of anymore help.

Hay Matty.
I would swap my snapper for those 2 jacks.
Alex
G'day Fishfreak,
Sounds like you had a great trip, and a very nice first Snapper and Golden on the chooks.
But, I will have to disagree with your views about your son Leon being disobedient. As a son myself, I think his actions are totally justifiable, and they simply show what a true fisherman he is and that his priorities are well and trully soughted .
Cheers,
James
I would have done the same, grasshopper has learnt well.
I dead set would swap you but only 1 not 2 dont get greedy alex . i have tried a million times and when i say 1 million there is no stretching the truth there. it is starting to drive me insane. i think the worst thing is when i use plastics, i can hook them some times but the story always ends the same with them reefing me, and then what rubs salt into the wounds is when i am getting nothing on the plastics, i switch to bait and then get fish . i think i should just hang up the plastics rod and plastics and let the fish win this battle.
Cheers

Matty, I have a friend who is a great snapper fisherman. Since Xmas the amount of big snapper ( 8 kg and well over ) he has caught has astounded me I have seen the photos and it makes me sick! :' All he uses these days is 6"/150mm Bozo Kruncha the colonel and the white, , they are a tough plastic and can take a few fish before being destroyed. He uses 50lb coloured braid and 60lb leader and only lets out the amount of line needed to get to the strick zone. (40m= 4 colors) then start all over again. He only does short drifts over his small humps that he fishes, and always backs back with his motor to have his line fairly straight.
I haven't worked it out myself yet, however I am determined to learn it. If someone else has learn't how to do it :'
SO CAN WE!
Fishfreak
Are alex my friend, see this is wear my patience has worn off, i once thought i would learn how to do this art of plastic fishing but to be honest after a year now i still SUCK . i have been using 5" and 7" gulp in EVERY COLOUR, and i use 20lb braid and 20lb leader and my out fit is a diawa tierra rod and 4000 stradic. i thought that going lighter line i should catch something, but i can't even catch a cold, i think the fish just lay there and laugh at my plastic to be honest . don't get me wrong i will keep trying but i refuse to put in as much time as i have recently. But you never know i might arse a fish then get addicted again but to be honest i find it very unlikely. The god damn snapper have won this battle but ill be back, and next time i will be preparred. ( slimies and pillies will be on board )
Cheers
Matty

Hey FishFreak
Top pics and excellent fish. You must have been almost beside yourself when you saw the sounder with that display - most of us can only dream of them!
We recently bought a 4.5 Centre Console Poly and it's probably as stable or better than my 18'6" F/G Easyrider and probably better at keeping you dry in sloppy conditions! But your comments about the 4" Welded Spray Chines interests me!
Who did the job and where and how much??
Thanks for the great report and I can only hope to catch the same fish let alone similar quality
Cheers
Alan
Hi Allan.
Thanks for your comments.
The person who you should talk to is Mark (Bargy) Bargenquast, his website is www.fraserguidedfishing.com.au his mobile is on there, he will tell you what you want to know, he is really a great guy and would be happy to help you out, It has made a huge difference to how dry it is.

Great fish and you have proved that the placcies are the way to go ,we just love hervey bay and always catch a feed as well the video was great as well ...matt
A bad days fishing has got to be better than any day at work......
Hi Fishy
I rang Bargy this morning as I figured that he wouldn't/couldn't go fishing with the weather in Hervey Bay as it currently is!
He told me about the spray chines and said he arranged it through Lenny in Hervey Bay for his. How did you organise yours?
Or did he arrange it for you also?
He quoted about $450 on his 5.3, so I guess that mine should be no more on a 4.5
Cheers
Alan
