heyhey ,

day started out good, went to work at 5am finished at 9am, got the boat picked up the wife and headed to raby bay off we went then it turned pear shaped...

my 10 hr old dory with a dt40 hp suzuki 2 stroke broke down about 1km from the ramp, it started missing and would not go above idle or it would shut down ,, so i rang the dealer "springwood marine " and he said bring it right down and they will have a look , i said "its a bit hard as im stuckout on the water ", he said ''that he has had a few foul spark plugs" so i got out the spare spark plug that they give you and replaced that bottom one still no luck took the new one out and put it in the top and good as new never missed a beat after that ,,

so we waited till a mate came out to meet us in his boat and we went to peel was a bit slow till about 7pm, then the finger mark came on all 25cm to 30 cm but we caught about 25 of them, so all of them were thrown back ....

then to my wifes surprise her line zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz she crapped her self yelling " oh my god.......i dont know what im doin" and more swear words then a sailor she landed her biggest fish ever a rubber lipped morwong (i think, blue and spotty with spines on its back, double fin) at 56.5 cm (sorry no photo ) but i had some snapper in the freezer at home so back he went in to the water

all in all a great day and my wife is now hooked on that feeling of the big fish ,,,,,

Nice morning out there. Good to hear the new motor was easily fixed and that you had the necessary tools at hand. Most new motors recommend running more oil in the fuel during the run in period. Helps break them in but can lead to fouled plugs. Was that the case?

Maybe Moses Perch rather than Fingermark???

I bet that got your wife's heart beating fast. She'll be hooked now - it's a good time to suggest upgrading some fishing gear.
