Launched at Clontarf about 5.00a.m. It was a bit choppier than I expected so a trip to Mud was out of the question. Went out the front of the Woody Point reefs and anchored up - with the falling tide and the wind out of the south-west it was fishable. if not terribly comfortable. Put out a bait on one rod while I rigged a pilchard under a float in case there was a tailor about. Hadn't managed to get half-way through rigging the pilly when ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ - something solid takes the bait. After a couple of minutes, and lots of head shakes, later a nice snapper 62cm is netted. In the next hour I landed another three (59, 61 and 65cm) and released another 4. About 6.30 the sun peeked around the clouds over Moreton and the fish disappeared. After releasing about half a dozen Moses perch I figured they weren't going to come back so by 7.30 I was back at the ramp. It was a great little session - who needs Mud anyway?
