    The Make/Model is the Humminbird LCR 400 ID.

    There are a couple for sale on eBay;

    One in Oz,

    http://cgi.ebay.com/HUMMINBIRD-LCR-4...:B:SRCH:US:101

    and one in the US;

    Other than that I know nothing about them.

    I have a Humminbird Wide Panorama in the garage of similar vintage, but probably higher specs!?. It was about $1200 new in 1997, but not worth much now I expect! Was a good sounder but I replaced it with colour Lowrance a year or so ago.

    Cheers

    11 year old technology...... your probably better saving your $50 and putting that towards a new sounder. without specs of the sounder it's hard to comment on how good it really is.

    A bit more info on it I have been able to find;

    Firstly, the Operators manual, you can get it off the Humminbird site on this page (bottom 1/3rd of the page);

    http://www.humminbird.com/support/FAQ.aspx?faqid=72

    Can also get it via this link, plus lots of other links etc about it;

    http://www.retrevo.com/s/Humminbird-...40ag505/t/1-2/

    Some observations;

    - seems very low resolution 32 x 46 pixels?? (specs on page 24 of the manual)

    - Not sure when they were released?, seem very basic and pretty old tech.

    - Has a 200 Mhz transducer which is still the standard

    Suspect they were reliable and if you are just going to use it to sound depth it will do the job.

    But if it is for fishing, IMHO you would be better to spend $200 on a entry level new sounder which will have much higher resolution, or hang out and spend the $50 or a little more on a newer 2nd hand sounder with higher resolution and more features. Have a look in the For Sale section here and you will have some comparatives on what you get for your money.

    Cheers
