I dont think AIMS do the swell thing.I find BOM pretty much on the money with that.
Scott,if you were to study the Myrmidon data as well as the Agincourt data and then split the heliconia's down the middle, you should get a good idea of wind trends.

Yes Daz ,FNQ was trying to create a model for weather prediction based on the everchanging data available and trying to put it into terms that a simple farmer like me could understand....

So Scott is the boat all packed and ready?Where are you heading?
I'm a bit excited...first overnighter for my young fella...it will be interesting(I stocked up on ginger tablets and quells as the poor little tyke tends to become a bit of a berley factory, though tomorrow should be pretty nice conditions.

Yes mate I was but I suspect you are too sharp for me! also a degree of jealousy over your lifestyle if the truth be out there.

Good luck on your trip, the little one will have a ball out wide with dad I bet.

Heading out Sunday at this stage, going all the way to the edge if the weather holds, if not then somewhere a little more protected.

    cheers fnq

It's all good ,Scott....Truth be told ...your botanical explanation of how I should interpret the weather down here is pretty much how I do it....windwise anyway ....(as far as rainfall goes we seem to be in a different league altogether down here near Tully).
Ah...dont be jealous mate...granted I make a living from what I like to do and it gives me the flexibility to pursue other hobbies and not to have to bust my arse too much ,but my friend, it's a frugal existence indeed....we despise materialism, the ambivalent pursuit of wealth and are scornful of societies trends so basically I and by association,my family choose to be fringe-dwellers....

Yes I'm really looking forward to taking the boy out and I think sunday should be good for you and I hope you get amongst them out wide.

Scott looks like we have a winner! seabreeze is showing a sudden sustained trend down over anything this last couple of weeks and its almost identical to their forecast!

This is good stuff hope it holds out, I am off now to get the boat ready, hope I remember how!

Hope you brain them out there and come back with your NEW legal compliment of red!

    cheers fnq

Hey Scott how did you go? I noticed a change has come through, seabreeze has not recognized it yet, hope it was not too bumpy for your young bloke overnight.

Yes Scott it was not too bad overnight 10-15 knots from the north....but daybreak saw a SW front arrive at 20-25 knots(the washing machine effect)....so much for trying to pick a few more trout up....had to be home before midday and only just made it.....4.25 hours it took to cover about 60 km's driving directly into this short, steep ,sharp crap with regular chunder stops for the little guy....

Then just to rub it in a nice young couple at the ramp told me how pleasant it looked out on the water.....and it wasn't really worth explaining that once you got 10k's or more out the lee of the mountains and islands ceased to shelter the water from a sou'wester.
and to rub it in even worse a boat came in at the same time which had been around the regular area where I overnight and they had bagged out on trout and caught 8 just legal red emperor and other stuff and it only took them 2 hours to get home.....
Oh well I got a feed for the family and neighbor but I hope your trip works out better.
My young fella explained it like this....."Dad,that was the worse day of my life...".

Scott real big shame! Hope he is feeling better now, it can take a while based on personal experience.

I called the day off when I got up and checked the new forecasts, otherwise I too would have been chundering, feel for the young fella, not just the worst but close to the longest day of his life.

With hope we have some dead calm days to coming up soon for a take 2 father and son trip.

    cheers fnq
