Damn it Scott, I think you might have jinxed seabreeze..
The latest update for Cairns is beginning to look a bit worse except sunday...
I'm not even going to look at that anymore....I'll just check out the Townsville graph ...like you say it ALWAYS looks better.

    Happy renovating Daz...
Last couple of trips have been out to Armistace but it might be time to give your marks around Gilby a shot again.

Yeah mate, finally upgraded. Bought Leezor's SF20 off him. Learning the ropes and all. Def much more comfortable than the old tinny!

Yeah Scott I might have, waited for this mornings update, Sunday looks just like the eye of a cyclone would. Townsville looks uncertain but worthy of the risk, you must have trouble often deciding whats up being piggy in the middle.

Congrats Dan! must be like chalk and cheese, good luck with this w/e.

I just came in to check the seabreeze update....
At 10am sunday we have Cairns at 1 knots and Townsville at 18 knots.
Living between these places how do I assess this situation...

Scott you have 1 tropical flower in one pot and 18 in another, now to find the middle add them together then divide by the number of pots The result in this instance is to stay warm in bed

Ps I couldn't spell Helliconia?? hence the tropical flower

Cairns is looking good but we have little showers coming through might be the reason for TVs 18kn?

lol scott....I wouldn't be surprised if seabreeze uses a similar prediction method.

yeah thats cool for you...at least you can get some real time wind speeds there as well.
I find the AIMS site great as they have a weather station in place at Myrmidon reef about 100 or so k's ESE of us...approx half hour updates and graphs of wind speed and direction over the past few days...I find it good as inshore along the coast can have different wind to where I fish 60-70k's out.
They also have a station at Agincourt reef...but thats a fair bit north of you guys isn't it?

    saturday it is then.

Would any of those also be the virtual buoy offshore of you on buoyweather?

Yeah Saturday looks the go,esp if you are overnighting, the forecast seems to be marching a little forward with the good weather each update though. Scott do you think this AIMS station would be any good for predicting the swell off Cairns?

Yes Scott, I dont know if buoy weather has something going with the institute or whether they just simply rip off the data but the virtual buoy directly out from us(mission beach) just happens to be in the same location as the actual AIMS weather station at Myrmidon Reef.
I dont think AIMS do the swell thing.I find BOM pretty much on the money with that.
Scott,if you were to study the Myrmidon data as well as the Agincourt data and then split the heliconia's down the middle, you should get a good idea of wind trends.
