cant let to much out
Nothing wrong with Morwong....haven't caught one in the bay though....
Out of curiosity I kept a morwong once and fried it in cornflake crumbs. I took a bite and initially it tasted OK. Made me wonder why they were so maligned.
Then I tried peeling off some crumbs and eating the flesh on its own. It was mushy and tasteless and I ended up throwing most of it out. To anyone thinking about keeping a morwong (anyone who's used to keeping better fish, that is) for God's sake crumb it, preferably in cornflake crumbs!
I thought you boiled them up in a pot with an old boot, and a rock.
After an hour you throw the boot, and the fish away and eat the rock ?
I know when I was on the charter off swains they made us throw them back. Siguatera perhaps ?
Surely they would be alright in a seafood casserole ?
If men are from Mars, and women are from Venus, politicians must be from uranus ?
