got to ask firstly what is a nanny fish ?
and whats the go here ?
' checked out by the water police, who kindly reminded me to cut the pectoral fins off the nannies '
Onya Scotty! The one weekend I have to work, and you go and catch Nannies on me!!! That's just rude
My mate ended up booking in for this weekend, and apparently he's sorted out the letter, so he'd better get on the plane this time!!! If you are keen for a trip out, let me know. I'll give you a call later anyway.
FISHAWN, a nanny is just short for nannygai also know as sea-perch, these were of the small mouth variety. In NQ most reef fish are regulated by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority as well as the DPI&F, this means when fishing on the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, any fish classified as a Coral Reef Fin Fish has to have one of their pectoral fins removed, its a measure thats supposed to prevent the black market sale of CRFF. The water police, have no power over what fish you have, but as most people in Townsville participate in our great past time, many are aware. I forgot to remove a fin, so they remided me to do so. For a full list of coral reef fin fish, you can visit the DPI&F fishweb site.
Dan....well what can I say, I offered, but no....you had to work, leaving me on my stoney lonesome, and you missed out on hearing that wonderful sounding drag on the new reel.
I'm very keen to head out again this weekend, Saturday is looking good, sunday looks a little better, but I'm a bit sceptical seeing how its a bit all over the shop, Monday is looking tops too, but I'll have to see if I can get the day off. What day/time does your mate get up here?
