Been using 200lb leader on 100lb hand line with gloves for big emperor ,etc at nightime at the reef.I find large sharks seem to bite through it just as easily as they devour a red on the way up. while this is a good thing eg don't feel like having my arms pulled off i question is leader material worth it in this instance.
While just using the line itself as a looped leader is ok if i buy stiff enough line which makes a good leader it is a terrible at coiling in the boat.Question is has anyone found a brand of line that is good at both. HAVE tried braid on 24 kg rods but many times i seem to be cut off in that first hit to get them off the shoal , reef country.
