Here’s a question regarding fuel monitoring via NMEA – using a Suzuki DF70/Garmin172c & Furuno 620 (the outboard and sounder were purchased for over a year ago but have not been fitted as the boat has taken way longer than expected) just getting ready to purchased the 620… but understand now that it's possible to get incredibly accurate fuel monitoring via NMEA– so I’ve been reading the related threads but seem to find the answer to my central question - should I fall back to a standard fuel-flow (paddle-wheel option) or go the NMEA route with this specific combination – Any ideas?

If you are talking about the Ep-20 interface for the zuke then you will need a different sounder or plotter if you dont go for the Lowrance gauge. The sounder/plotter will need to be NMEA 2000 compliant which the 172 and 620 are not.
Thanks Greg - is the 'Lowrance gauge' a stand alone gauge or it is a sounder or plotter. I've already bought the GPS & the motor so the only wriggle room is with the sounder. Interested in your suggestions on how to proceed.
