    Tweed report

headded out threw the tweed bar this morning sun just starting to come up just as we get near the bar just looks like glass Perfect day, zooming out to the 36s at 30knts when we get to the 9 mile i started thinking wow great day then i see a white cap then another then another untill the wind picked up to about 20-25knts making it a bit sloppy but made it all that way wernt going to turn back.

get to our spot drop the sea anchor 1st line to the bottom Bang nice snapper
then the next line hit the bottom bang. started thinking that it was going to be a good day get the 2nd like over to find out it was a remora (thoes suckky things that clean of sharks) went down hill from there with more of them and only a few more snapper so we headded in closer hoping the wind wouldnt be as bad,
And we got a few more snaps including a moari rass.

All in all a fun day getting sprayed by the water as we were moving around and got enough for the crew and family to have a feed

    Weather changed quite drimaticly

Welcome to the site . Good to see some of us are not too busy to fish . Not too many Tweed reports around at the moment - glad you got a few . Probably a little hard to tell with a lot of wind but what was the current like at the 36 ?

    Re: Tweed report

Current was quite strong but the wind made it hard to get a real judgement also with the Sea anchor - MASSIVE help with wind

    Re: Tweed report

wasn't particularly pleasant hey. A fella in a Green Hornet followed me out for a while till i turned across the wind to my spot, they headed to cook and fido's. We spotted them later working fido's and i have to say they did well in the conditions to not fall overboard, it was rather lumpy out there.

Fished Tweed also on saturday morning. Had a quick troll at Fidos with only 1 mack tuna to show for it. The spaniards are still hiding somewhere other than the tweed this year. From there moved to south reef and nine mile. Had a double hookup on solid GTs which was great fishing on my own!! Ended up fighting one all the way to the boat and straightened the trebles boatside. Put that rod down and picked up the next one. After slogging it out I boated him at a tad under 17kg. Thought about a release but the lure had done a bit of damage to the fish! Overall a very slow day with only a couple of small squire and bream on fidos. Those lovely sou-westers always make for a fun start to the day.
