    1770 marathon

left thursday night for 1770. Launched the boat friday morning and was greeted with light south westerly conditions so we proceed to head due east approximately 48km to some contours on the chart which looked good. Proceed to fill the esky with trout , reds , hussar, cod, sweetlip and around 10 other species. Eventually ended up in fitzroy lagoon for the night which also held some nice red throat sweetlip and spangled emperor. Day 2 and Day 3 were also pretty muche the same as the first with alot of fish being caught and new marks found between old marks. Pulled some good trout but also lost a few to gear failure Most fish were landed on 10/0 circles as anything smaller was popping leader on patanoster rigs. A good trip and I cant wait to get back out there for more.

There is a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot

I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges

Up here we Use Hussar as baits for real RED FISHS (SHSIIFDER)

    Re: 1770 marathon

depth ranged from 20 - 90 metres with most fish coming from 40 - 50 metres
the lagoon is good but at only 7m big fish can easily blow you away on the coral.
