This notice to mariners using the Brisbane River is an important one. Particularly the issue of the pipeline extending form the rock wall.

“The dredge "VOLVOX ASIA" will monitor VHF channel 12 and will display the appropriate lights and signals. The dredge material is to be discharged via a floating pipeline situated between the BP Products wharf and the Shell wharf in the Lytton Reach of the BrisbaneRiver. The pipeline will extend approximately 110 metres from the face of the rock wall on the north bank of the river, and will be lit by flashing white lights.
The floating pipeline installation work in Lytton Reach is scheduled to begin 18 April 2008. Mariners are advised to pass at an appropriate distance to the offshore side of the floating pipeline.
Mariners should exercise caution when navigating in the area of operations.”
