hey all, went camping on my long weekend and took the boat. was perfect weather although the tides were crap. I lauched the boat and went on a days fishn up cattle creek then when i got back, i was winching the boat onto the trailer and the winch broke. The cable was fine, it was the actual hub that the cable rolls onto, it just ripped out of the chassis of the winch.
it was a 300kg rated winch with a ratio of 3:1. does anyone know whether i should step up the weight rating and possibly what the best brand of winch is to get.
when the winch broke the boat was dumped on its arse and it also snapped my transducer off the back of my boat. was a great weekend indeed.
