thats a nice story those pics tell Shane, sounds like a great trip.
How good do those big black jewies pull hey, they are a real go hard or go home type of fight in the shallow stuff.
Bad luck on missing the meter mark mate, gives another reason to front up next year, if you ever needed one.

    cheers

Looks like it was an awesome trip Shane. Three 99cm fish...that's just plain frustrating! That black jew is a stonker too.

Sounds like a great trip Shane, some nice fish there Mate.
I've never fished NT, but have spent spent some time fishing around Weipa. You can't beat the fishing up north this time of year after the run-off.

Thanks guys fishing was great the jew was a lucky catch we had pulled in 4 others on the boat and the skipper said time to go home as he said that i had a nibble i left it for a few seconds then he started up the motor so started to wind in and the fish was swimming towards me normlly they suck on it and then start swimming away, that goldy in the first photo was a nice fish not sure what he weighed but i am 6 ft and was struggling to hold him up on the gaff his nose was at my shouder and his tail was below my waist. i had planned to do a sports fishing trip on the friday but it was booked up but glad i didn't get in after catching 3 g'ts in 5 minutes my arm was killing me

There is a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot

I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges

Up here we Use Hussar as baits for real RED FISHS (SHSIIFDER)

Ha ha! Well done Robersl. Good to see ya got amongst em too.
I had the hooks straightened by 2 suspect XOS Jewies yesterday while drifting for snapper. A bit undergunned for em I was, but beats getting spooled on 100lb braid.
Nice goldies as well. They reckon a 60cm Goldie is at least 10years old. The only thing I reckon about NT fishing is the reg's need an overhaul. They have possession limits but no size limits. The only size limits placed are on barra (55cm min) and crabs.
The south is still firing mate and the classic is on next week I think. That's the reports I'm getting anyways.
Top pics, I bet you'll be back next year eh.
