    Manly last night

Just had to get out and wet a line .....the gearbox is buggered on the boat so ventured down to manly harbour (landbased) to fish an hour or so either side of high tide. I haven't fished this place for 4 or 5 years so wasn't expecting too much. A couple of others enjoying the light breeze but left around midnight. I had to place to myself. Finished up with 5 bream 25 - 27cm (throwbacks), 2 bream 30 and 31cm, 1 bloody cattie about 65cm that I managed to catch twice (I cut my line the first time and it was dangling out of its mouth when recaught) and an absolute stonker of a flattie.....measured 79cm. She was a ripper and left to fight another day and hopefully make lots of little baby flatties. It was a gorgeous night with just a slight westerly blowing.
It surprised me however how few trailers were parked at the ramp. I know its Anzac day today but with this weather I was sure it would have been a lot busier.
I hope this weather holds for the weekend and everybody can get out and enjoy our wonderful playground as I did tonight. Tight lines and happy smiles........and to our ANZACS.....Lest we forget. I'm now going to get ready to head down to the dawn service.

    Cheers

What time did you leave Dylan. I was the bloke sitting on the steps on the Wynnum side of the short rock wall. You probably walked passed me.

Mate I've actually always preferred to fish the outer side. In 20 odd years of fishing there I have found it to be more productive. Funnily enough I think I have probably covered every inch of that wall over the years and there is only a handful of spots that regularly fire. At times you will get real elbow slapper whiting but only a couple or so at a time.

Maybe few trailers down there but at the Pin you couldn't get a parking spot for a trailer.
