New fisho
G'day everyone. I'm a late bloomer to fishing, never really had any inclination towards it until my family and I moved to Mackay. Kids were keen to get some rods and I got one for me (just in case). If you had asked me 7 months ago if you would find me watching the sun come up on a Sunday morning, sitting by myself with a line in the water, I would have bet heavily against it. For me it's the relaxation, cleansing the mind, and occasionally encountering some fish. We have moved up now and purchased our first boat, a Seafarer V-Sea with a 70hp Johnson 2 stroke. I have also just purchased a new trailer, one of those roller ones that seem to be recommended for fibreglass boats. Haven't transferred the boat onto the new trailer yet, if anyone has some tips on setting the rollers, fishing spots around the Mackay area, general boating etc. I would be happy to listen. Thanks for reading all of this diatribe, if only my fish were this long.

Hi. Man, you start fishing buying a 70 hp motor boat? I'd start with a line rolled at a can and one hook and one sinker! Caray! I need go to Australia.

Gday noiseworks,
Welcome to to the club. (as they say) I am further north from you, near Atherton. I have been researching a lot about boats, trailers, boat ramps, fishing techniques, etc. below is one of the sights that i have found useful for trailer set ups and anything else to do with the water.
Hope it helps.
John
