After hearing recent reports of a few active herring gettin round. Decided my brother and i would head down to a proven little spot X. I (Todd) wanted to christen the new gear (3000 Stradic on a 6-14lb Team Daiwa Teirra rod spooled with 15lb braid) on a decent string stretcher. After arrival and some light burleying, a few good hits, runs and spat hooks from aerial manouvres that even the Chinese diving judge would pop out a "10" for. The hook was set and the stradic was singing, he stayed deep for awhile until he to entered the routine, however this time the hook stayed set. Little time was wasted before the fish hit the mat for a quick pic and then was set free for the next olympics. He'll be a strong contender! The night ended soon after with the 1 fish landed.
