    Moondarra Barra

Just thought I'de put up a pic of a 111cm barra I got in my local lake the other day. Was caught in 21.4 degree water and got it on my 5th cast. Was heavy as. Oh yeah, sorry about the pic quality. It was on my mobile and I was by myself, and the shadow ah....... all I can say is I wanted to get her back into the water quickly! haha

    Cheers Doug.

Well done on the fish mate. Havn't seen a Moondy for ages... plenty of good fish out there. Mate of mine use to hit it up reguarly and he did pretty well for himself. Good family fishery!

Just a pointer... wet your Brag mat before you go to measure fish on it mate. Those Polycraft heat up quick, as do Bragmats in the sun... if they, as well as towels are wet to protect the fish then the better chance of survival they have. By taking their protective Slim cover off they are open to all sorts of nasties in the water (infections).

    Well done... keep em' coming!

NAGG - Whats wrong with 21.4 degree water? For Barra in Northern Impoundments thats nothing!!!

    Cheers

    Re: Moondarra Barra

yeh it was fat alrite. takes a bit of effort to get the fish in when the winds are howling and the electric battery is dead! pretty cold water temps considering a month ago the water temp was 31 degrees. fingers crossed we dont get a another bad fish kill. i have never seen so many dead fish as i did last winter. thousands and thousands of fish dead over a meter lined the shoreline just about the whole way around the lake.
