Well done...as long as you enjoy the odd fish you don't need a boat at all....it's about getting yours and the families heads out of the everyday crap of work and school that matters, we all need to get away.
Enjoy

Had a great weekend up at Camp Logan campsite on the Wivenhoe dam. The weather was mostly fine with just a few showers. The Dam levels are very low; 25% the ranger said.
We only fished from the bank around the camp and got a small (20cm) bass, with a live "African Night Crawler Worm" (as bought at the local servo) and a biggish 40 odd cm Cattie which took a nuc chicken 3" shrimp. Everyone i spoke to said you needed a boat for the real good fishing but for a relaxing weekend out of Brisbane it was just fine.

Last time I camped Wivenhoe is was full of drunken idiots partying all night, and next day one of the idiot's kids (about 8yo) kept hassling me to help him fish. I helped him out a bit, 'cause Dad was lying in with a hangover, but Hell, is that why you go camping?
Carbon Really Ain't Pollution.
No such problems for us last weekend, we were practically the only folk there and the others that turned up on the Saturday were all quiet and polite - Maybe it depends what time of the year you go?
