Best time to fish for summer whiting

    Good Afternoon
Everyone has their "special time" to pick up big summeries, I try and fish from around 3 days before the full moon with building tides around dark. Your comments would be appreciated.

    Cheers

I think its dependent on the location as to what times to fish. Lunar cycles I am not sure affect summer whiting so much as tide, location and water depth.
Some of my favorite big summer whiting locations are mud banks that dry out at low tide and have about 3 feet of water over them at full. Generally as soon as there is about 20cm of water there the big summeries will be cruising and feeding hard and if you are in a quiet location you can actually see them tailing like golden trevally do digging out worms and crustaceans.

So my point is I prefer to fish the areas that are muddy and as soon as there is enough water start fishing for them day or night.

    Jack.
