Has anyone had experience with transome replacement? Is both methods exceptable ie, coming in through the back of the transome or taking the top of the hull off and coming though the front of the transome?
Is coming in through the back exceptable practise?
Yeah it's a sucky job though, if you do choose to come at it from the rear be sure to leave 2 inchs all the way around, very hard to replicate the original edge strength if yu cut close.
I went in from inside and cut the gunnels either side, I was doing the entire boat though, no wood anywhere was missed so my choice was easy.
