RULES & REGULATIONS
  1. The competition is to be fished, 0000 hours Saturday 3rd May to 1300 hours Monday 5th May 2008.
  2. In the interests of conservation only eight (8) categories of fish will be accepted for weigh-in. These categories are snapper, pearl perch, pelagic, whiting, jew, parrot, bream & sweetlip. No other species of fish to be weighed in. Fish are to be weighed in whole with no allowance for cleaned fish. No mutilated fish will be allowed. Fish may be iced down but no frozen fish will be accepted. Only cobia/black kingfish, mackerel, mberjack/Samson, yellowtail kingfish, wahoo, dolphinfish and tuna are to be weighed in as pelagic. Only spangled emperor and grass sweetlip to be weighed in as sweetlip.
  3. Best of Category will be decided by weight, with only one fish per category, per angler being accepted for weigh-in. In the event of a tie, the first fish weighed in will be deemed the winner. All fish submitted for weigh-in shall be available for scrutiny until prize winners have been announced. No one angler shall take out first and or second and or third in any one category. There will be a prize for the heaviest of each category on Saturday and Sunday. If that fish stays the heaviest for the competition it will be deemed the winner and will take out that prize.
  4. All competing anglers shall be conversant with and observe Queensland Legislation governing fish sizes and bag limits. All boats must comply with all safety requirements under current Queensland Legislation.
  5. Entry fee is $75 Adults; $20 Juniors (15 years and under as at 29th April, 2008); and Family $140 (2 adults and 1 or 2 juniors). All entry fees are payable to MBTBC. Competitors must pay on or before 7.30pm Friday 2nd May. All entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. All tickets and prizes are non-transferable. All early entrants who pay on or before 6pm Monday 28th April 2008 will go into the early entrants draw. All entrants must pick up their check-in cards on Friday 2nd May 2008 between 4.30pm and 7.30pm. You must be present to collect all lucky draw prizes, major prize draw and raffles. Your check-in card is your ID card for the comp, you must have it on you at all times. NO CARD NO PRIZE. Photo ID required for Major Prize Draw winners.
  6. Fishing will commence at 0000 hours on Saturday 3rd May and conclude 1300 hours Monday 5th May. There will be a weigh-in each day Saturday 1600-1800 hours; Sunday 1600-1800 hours; Monday 1100-1300 hours. All fish to be weighed in must be in the weigh-in line by closing time of each weigh-in with Check-in Cards (NO CARD NO PRIZE). It is a condition of entry that any competing boat and/or fish presented for weigh-in may be subject to scrutiny.
  7. Fishing boundaries are all inshore (tidal) and offshore waters north to a line east – west through the Noosa Bar and south to a line east-west through the Tweed Bar. Any competitor found fishing outside these areas will be disqualified.
  8. The interpretation and implementation of these rules and regulations shall remain the province of the MBTBC Inc officials. All competitors compete at their own risk. MBTBC Inc and/or the officials cannot be held liable for any
    incidents that may occur.
  9. All prizes won at the Classic are given in good faith and are subjected to manufacturers or suppliers conditions. MBTBC Inc and or officials cannot be held liable.
  10. No junior entry can win an adult prize and no adult can win a junior prize.
  11. Any competing angler not meeting any/all rules and regulations will be deemed ineligible for any prizes. Fish only to be weighed in: sweetlip (spangler emperor & grass sweetlip), snapper, pearl perch, parrot, whiting, jew, bream, pelagic (cobia/black kingfish, mackerel, amberjack/Samson, yellowtail kingfish, tuna, wahoo and dolphinfish).
