went out again today nice and early,smashing some better size bream with troy getting his pb of 34cm fork lenght which completly inhaled his jackall chubby and he did well to get it out of tight country on a 3lb leader!
today was much better fishing as we cracked a good pattern the only down side was the wind.
now for you guys who saw that last flattie know how hard it is to get something like that well today i hooked an even bigger fish well into the meter and i have troy to back me up.
when we were fishing a good sand flat getting into a school of bream all around the 25cm mark, i was winding the chubbie accross ythe flat and hooked another bream and suddenly felf alot more wieght. i thought i was snagged untill it took a run for about 30m, after 10minutes of fighting this fish we saw the size of the monster suddenly it came to the top and went nuts on the surface shaking it head like mad and spat out a bream around 28cm which was still alive!!! though it just sat in mid water pritty stunned. after another 5 min on this flathead it took another huge run and went straight over a rocky reef and i lost it,
but thats fishin and i probebly would have still lost it on my 4lb leader.
anothr drift over the flats with my baitcaster and a 100mm squidgie fish caught me another nice fish rhough it was nowere near as big as the last it was 72cm.
we went back out to the rock walls for some more bream as the wind was too much and i caught a good tailor around 50cm(dad loves tailor so it came home)
i hooked another BIG fish that i think was a monster bream the busted me off.
i also got a big eye trev about 50cm and troy caught an awsome golden trevally on the light stuff again and gave a good account for itself.
was another great day though the best spots were too windy to fish

A quick question if you don't mind answering it. What sort of rod/reel set up do you use to cast the lures? I'm really nervous about going down to 3lb but you obviously need that type of line to cast such small lures any distance.

ive also lost a cpl of "suspected " metere's on 4lb i kow how ya feel (very helpless if i recall right)the more you hook the better the odds get

but then you also need the right sort of rod to match with this line something alot softer to be more forgiving so it does not put as much stress on the line or your knots will pop and the line will break.
me have a few rods and reels for different situations,i dont get alot of money because im an apprentice so i cant afford $600 rods.
my most commonly used combo is a daiwa certate 1500 and a burkley pro tactic rod so around $750-$800 for the combo.
i think troy was using a daiwa 2000 sol and g,loomis GL3
