    My Wife Wants A Barra

I thought I might take my Wife to Monduran to catch a Barra.

Since she sprung me with all those lures I need to justify there value.

I am going to leave it until after the school holidays (NSW) then take a few days up there.

As it gets closer I might ask if anyone can give us an up to date report on where they are biting.

I know Monduran fairly well, caught fish in Bird Bay, been smashed up a few times around 'I'. I have breadcrumb trails to most areas and 25k up into the sticks but I understand it looks quite different now under a few meters of water.

We will be strictly fishing C&R or CPR with a camera.

Hope a few of you can assist in a few weeks.

    Regards Gordon

wish my wife wanted a barra, all she wants is for me to paint the balustradeing.

I reckon you wont have any trouble getting a few up to date clues as your trip gets closer Gordan, they seem to be a friendly mob round here

Where do I get me one of those Gordan (a wife that fishes that is)
You will have no problems getting all the info you need out of these blokes. They are all very helpful.

I hate to think what would happen if my wife found all my fishing gear. It would be hard to explain where it all came from.
I'd rather fish for a week without catching fish than go to work for a day.

Be prepared! You will be doing a lot of barra fishing after she lands her first. My first was only 60cm, but I was just as excited with it, as i was with my biggest. Also be prepared just in case she out fishes you. (I though i was going to have to walk home )
Our last barra trip was 12 months ago, so I can't help with what's happening up there currently. But I'm sure there will be plenty of info passed onto you by those in the know. Not sure when the next trip will be but we both have the itch big time.
    Wish we lived closer
    Good Luck.
    Cheers Kim.

watch her like a hawk mate, she'll play all innocent and then while your back is turned, she'll steal your new favourite lure, catch all the fish(obviously once you've rubbed your Mojo all over said lure) and won't give it back.

I seem to remember honey... that we swapped lures... i gave you the lure that was catching all the fish. I then got smashed on the lure you had just been using
Who's got the mojo. Then again who's lost it now, can't seem to catch a fish to save myself at the moment.
    your loving barra catching wife.

    Gordon,
Make sure she sticks at it, I was fishless the first trip.
    Cheers Kim.

Re: My Wife Wants A Barra

Kim my wife usually outfishes me. Many years ago we fished Bribie Passage for whiting and she always caught twice as many as I did.

Some years ago we had the chance to have our first Barra experience on the Daly, She caught the first and largest. ( I didn't take her the next time )

What I do now, I go away and camp rough, tent, matress on the ground, live on vegemite sandwiches and coffee and fish all day.

It is not her cup of tea, but it looks like I will have to do the right thing this time.

I guess I will have to lodge a report of our success ! Damm I know whats going to happen.

    Regards Gordon

( Do you two live at Potsville, I will have to put a Potsville report on this site. Keep it to yourselves hey )
