OK OK. In all my excitement I may have over guesstimated hence the edit. But they were fairly thick fish and the 90 I got felt pretty heavy. never mind, they still pull like freight trains. My apologies.
Now that I've been exposed as a fraudster I'll keep going:
Hit it again today and managed a few more. Took a little while on the troll before I nailed my first just to get busted off. 2 lost lures later and I landed a nice fish mid 70's and decided to drift and jig seeing they were on the chew.
First pass looked ordinary with bait fairly well dispersed but on the second pass the sounder told the story with some amazing shows.
This time the bait was piled up like a pole with big shows either side of em and it didn't take much for the imagination to know what was going on down there.
Dropped the powerbait and got whaled straight up drag screaming. Almost locked drag on the Stradic did nothing really and after 15 minutes up came a PB Golden of around 90cm (and this fish also felt at least 10kg but I refuse to speculate).
Subsequent drifts yeilding GT after GT after GT with a few more bust offs and leaving me with little circle bruises on my tummy.
2 hrs and I was out.
No pics as the Mrs had it at the waterpark but got a few on the camera phone (Whytey, if you got em back me up man!!!).
It's still LG in Darwin boys, more posts to come later.
Pistol: Na I don't think they're oceanic if your thinking of the big black suckers? I think they get em around the Tiwis and Groote and maybe the Vernons tho. I may be able to confirm this for you later in the year.
Unit: ya got me mate, and C&C is right take advantage while you can. Jack season is almost done buddy so I expect we won't be hearing much from you or photoshop for a while............come on buddy, surprise me. The bay is just waiting for you to dominate the snapper season now.
Cheers,
Rich
