    giant herring hervey bay

    a mate got this while out fishing with us last week there were quite a few under us with this the only one landed out of 5 hooked.

    murphys law mate he broke his 8kg stick moments before so dropped his 2 to 4 kg outfit down ,it jumped a couple of times as well

    Really nice fish. Looks like a brazilian fish caled "ubarana". A very bony fish. Herring is good eating?

    no herring are not good eating just a sport fish, you will be upprised how mnay of that size and bigger are around in summer.
    great fish the fight really hard.
    if you see them next time try a little bean sinker about a gram colured white or yellow. with a light wire gamakatsu single drop shot hook, works a treat

    Thanks by the tip, breamnut. Here, we caugth them sometimes, they aren't the target exactly. When lurecasting or jigging for snooks in mangroves sometimes one or two of them attack the lure. Take a look one my mate Massa toke jigging last estuary boated fishing.
