Raby Bay Sat

Fished canals at Raby Bay Sat morning for BSFC interclub comp.

Got three bream at 25, 28 and 30cm (landbased) on whitebait and pilchard cubes.

I threw the popper around for a while and something sizable had a go at it but did not hook up. There was a fair bit of surface activity early on.

Moved on to the Brissy River a bit later for a few small bream and a little whiting.

Attended the weigh in at Bribie this arvo and missed the longest bream prize by 1cm.

Dylan - Yeah it has been a long time between reports. Family responsibilities mean I don't get out as much these days. I was there just after 5am so saw the sun come up. First cast I got busted off on 2kg line in close to the pontoon. There was bait being hit in close to the rocks in the grey light which might have been a jack or cod???? The popper got harrassed in the middle of the canal so I think it could have been trevally. The small bream was on 2kg line and the bigger two on 4kg line. I hope I get some time again soon to give this spot another go. I have caught bream, flounder, moses perch and been busted up on 2 and 4kg line a few times from this same spot but have never seen anyone else fish there.

I would not completely discount Jack and Cod Chris, but most of the time in Raby Bay it will be the Trevors stirring up the bait fish in and around the canals. Off the rock wall points it will likely be chopper tailor.
