If they can't deliver, cancel the order and buy from OS. It is a global market now whether you like it or not. I do support my local bloke but if they can't deliver, I have no problems going elsewhere.
Jeff
I ordered a few blue(device) to red(backbone) adapters and a double red T from my local Lowrance dealer earlier in the week. Rang them today to get the answer of 'supplier is out of stock, there are none in the country'
I thought there must be a mistake, surely a company such as Navico wouldnt be stupid enough to completely exhaust popular cables and connector stock?????
But I was wrong, nil stock! Defeats the purpose of buying locally when the lead (pardon the pun ) time is longer than what it takes to buy from overseas.

Quality is still delivering long after you have forgotten the price.
plus the fact that, that we are ripped off blind.
Example 25 blue extension cable, us price 26.00 + freight 30.00 (5 day delivery time) Aus price 128.00.
Currency fluctuation, almost 1 for1.
getting ripped big time.

Honda.
yeah, I know.
Overseas transactions arent without problems either When something goes wrong and you are on the other side of the world, I'm sure the email finds its way to the recycle bin quite easily.
I wont say too much until the matter is resolved.
I got a quote for a 256mb garmin data card last week of $348 locally. I just bought 512mb data card from the states for 163 delivered brand new and insured.
It just does not add up the amounts we are charged here in Aus. Import duties are not 100% of the product value yet the locals charge like it is and whine they are making nothing out of it. Sure makes it hard to believe some of the locals.
Jack.
My brother has just paid around 50% of the local quoted price for a Raymarine C120 with radar and 1KW transducer./ Ramarine run a global warranty system. Mad if you buy locally at the ripoff prices being charged

Will i got quoted $400aus here for 2nd setup for a navman gps got from the states for $125AUS just to rub salt in it was made in NZ comein sucker yes US.CHEERS
The LMF400/EP60 combo can be had for about $170US, Which includes network cable, T pieces, terminators etc etc which wont even come close to buying the EP60 sender alone from australia.
Yep ahve to agree with all the above. Have just takenn delivery of another sounder for the tinnie. Its an Eagle 480DF. Prices here ranged from $570 - $900 (think he got that one VERY wrong!) Even MO's was $549 plus delivery. Contacted Pat at "Fish On" and got the unit sent here in under two weeks, for less than $350.00. This includes the delivery, insurance, and my bank charges.
.
Reckon I'm sold and now I'm singing the virtues of buying this way to all my colleauges I know some dont like the idea of sending copious amounts of money to people you have no idea about and that warranty can sometimes be an issue. But Pat came HIGHLY recommended and in my view if you can find someone as professional and trustworthy as him, then you'd be mad to buy anywhere else whilst the dollar is so good against the greenback
The warranty doesnt really bother me. For example, the product I just recieved from the states that was faulty (damaged - wont mention brand just yet) was just over about 1/3 the price of what they are asking in Australia. If I have to buy another one and toss the first one in the bin I am still in front by a country mile
The reason I buy O/S is simply it's Cheaper MUCH Cheaper, In this day and age everybody is watching their pennys and u have to do what u have to do, If u are one of the very few who has a great disposable income well go ahead and buy local, U will not convince me that 100%+ mark up is fair, Cheers Whitto
In the area I live 7 out of ten buy electronics o/s. I have just purchased garmin 525s and small map for $1400 delivered in 5 working days. Surelly the local dealers are feeling this o/s shopping spree, yet nothing changes. Polky.
I'm another one that can vouch for Pat from Fishon's great service and pricing.
He informed me from the beginning that the unit I wanted was not in stock and there would be a wait, but I was OK with that.
Got the unit, Oz maps, fuel flow and delivery cheaper than I could have got the unit by itself, locally. Would not hesitate to use Fishon again.
If anyone does need Lowrance cables, I have to get some as well, so PM me to share delivery costs. I'm in Sydney.
