    Mud Island 3-04-08

    Gidday AF,

Left Whyte ramp @ 5am with deckie - JOM for first time being my deckie cos I always being his deckie on his big boat to offshore trips...
Anyway must be his luck after few cast and picked his best snapper at Mud, she went 70cm & took about 5 minutes battle on 6lb braid...Good effort!
We caught about 20 fish mostly undersize fish and only keep 32cm grassie, 30cm Brim & Bullseye...Returned ramp @ 8:15am
Sadly I accident dropped my net...when I pulled a grassie to the water surface & JOM was on mobile...somehow grassie was angry and dive faster into deep then rod hit net slipped off my hand...
bought new net last night!!! be ready to go back again

Thanks for a great trip silent! Your little seawasp does the trick and is really stable considering its size!

Silent your a keen angler and its good to see you rewarded for the effort you put into the sport.
Must be your turn to hook up to a 70+ model again soon.
The old mud has quality more than quantity.
Congratulations to the Deckie thats a nice Snapper on 6lb gear.
    Cheers Brent

Good to see it was caught on plastics as all mine are to. Good size snap and a good photo with his fins up in the air making him look bigger. Might have to spend a bit of time mud way instead of peel and southern islands.
