    Seafarer 17 Viking horse power!

I have an old Viking, real old ha ha the 20th boat of the mould. I want to put a new suzuki on it but I really want to make the right choice. Which is better the 140 or 115 Suzuki four stroke. I beleive it is about 700 kil plus 130 liters of fuel so about 800 kg.

Fuel economy is important to me, id like to go the 140 but not sure if it will chew heaps more, whats your opinion people!

The 115 should be ample. I'm pretty sure that the Viking was based on the old Ventura style hull and it was rated to only 140HP when HP was measured at the flywheel. 140 might turn out to be a bit of a leathal weapon if you decided to open her up.

Go The 140.. just cause its got 140hp dont mean ya have to use it... engines weigh exactly the same. IMO you will get better economy out of the 140!

Spaniard is on the money' I had old seafarer Vsea number 239 outa the mould, when the 85Hp Evinrude retired I bought a 115Hp Johnno, maximum HP rating for the Vsea, once I got the testosterone out of my system is was no different in consumtion than the old 85.
