I find I can keep up to 50 prawns for a couple of weeks. You lose the odd one but it is usually quickly eaten by the others. I haven't kept any number longer than that because I usually use them on a trip within that time. I can't take a pic at the moment because there are only one or two escapees left after yesterday's effort. Next time I've got a few in there I'll take a pic and post it.

I've caught plenty of jew in the surf on beach worms but I've never tried the worms in the river. I've got a supply of cured beach worms in the freezer, so it would be interesting to give them a try

LOL - now I know where we're going.

The ones I've been catching in the Pine have been very clean - I think I've had to cut only one or two worms out of one of them. But worms are very common in the bigger jew I've caught on the Sunshine Coast (Noosa, Coolum, Maroochy River). It was very unusual to catch a big jew without some worms in the flesh. I've also caught school jew in the surf on Fraser Island (on worms) that had so many worms that the fillet looked like a piece of Swiss cheese after you cut out all the worms. I found that if you worried about worms in the flesh you never got to eat any jew - and they're too good on the chew for that!

I've lost a few poddy mullet to big fish that did me over well and truly while fishing the Pine lately, but couldn't say whether they were jew, jacks or possibly threadfin (or even sharks I guess). BrandonH got a good jew about a month ago in the Pine and I think it took a mullet. If you were going to sit for a few hours at night looking for a jew I think a live mullet would probably be your best bet.

Hey guys, I didn't' get mine on a Mullet but saw someone catch one a week prior to mine on one. Mine took a dead greenback hearing for some reason!! lol

Live mullet would have to be my choice bait for them in the pine although that is starting to change after all these Jew John is catching on live Prawns!!!

    Cheers
