Another Pine River jew

Daughter rang up yesterday wanting some fresh fish for a barbie on Saturday, if I could manage it, so at 4.00a.m. I'm chasing live prawns around an aquarium with a little scoop net to get some live bait. After netting about 30 greasies and 4 bananas, left-overs from a previous trip, I headed to my favourite spot in the Pine to see if the bream were still going strong. There were quite a few bream about but the quality was way down on recent trips. I caught about 10 bream and kept only one. But I did manage this little bloke on a live banana prawn, which made the trip worthwhile. He went 65cm and should go well on the barbie.

That's four so far this year in that spot Brandon. Best year ever for jew in the Pine, for me anyway.

Cheers freeeedom just curious as the one i got a while back was 76 cm but only went 3.4 kilo on the kitchen scales so was thinking it`s time for me to invest in some decent scales. cheers and well done again on another fine jewie.

Yeah Silent - I much prefer the 3-6 kg size for eating. The big mommas get a bit coarse and tasteless I find. The prawns have been hard to find for months now and because I didn't want to get wet and muddy again and wanted to start fishing early I raided the aquarium.
Unfortunately I'm not invited to the barbie on Saturday, so I hope they enjoy it. I get to spoil the grandkids on Sunday

Just the odd one Mick. This year has been well above average for lots of people - not just me. Although it might have something to do with the technique I've been using this year to target larger fish.
