98 3.2 v6 Rodeo Catalytic Converter Vibration noise

I have a 98 3.2 v6 Rodeo changed the exhaust recently had a sport type. Hated it to noisy, on the truck when I got it so I just waited till it needed replacing.

So far on the 3rd Catalytic Converter by 2 different exhaust proprietors.

Vibration noise on the start of the revs in each gear and around 95 kph in 5th which is a pain as this is where the Rodeo is most fuel efficient.

I have had the recommended after market and a s/s equivalent and now a lrg s/s truck type which is the best of them but not by munch.

I have suggested to the fitter maybe the heat shield is rattling ??? but he said unlikely. I had a look the shields are only tacked on by a couple of spot welds. Has anyone else had a similar problem???

stick your head underneath and give all your mufflers a belt with your closed hand. if one rattles it needs to be looked at.
you can get some heatshields to rattle try puting a kink in them this should stop them from rattleing.
As for the catalytic converter this is the first muffler looking thing in the system. they can overheat and collapse. the belting test should see it has done this.
one other thing to ask your muufler guy is V6 rodeos have a spark arrestor before the cat. this maybe broken. (you should get it removed anyway as it will help with exhaust flow and in turn help fuel problem).

How did you go after kinking the shield?
Can you get the noise on free rev?

i also agree with the rocks! but what i have found is if there is a leak before the cat it will burn the cat out! making the stuff inside rattle!
