Well i haven't really fished for bream anywhere else except for hervey bay so thats my vote i have seen some pritty big bream caught here my pb is 42cm and that is a little over average for here in winter
I voted other, Mud Island is pretty special for Big Bream.

I have caught many kilo+ bream from most places in Qld NSW and some areas of Vic. I do not think there is a home of the big bream as they are so diversely spread.
I caught a 1.5kg bream in the south pine river underneath the bridges of Strathpine Road right next to St Pauls School. That would be as unlikely a place as any to score a big bream.
Most large bream I have caught in one place at one session would be nearly 30 or so from a surf gutter on Moreton island 20 yrs ago. I haven't tried surf fishing the area since but would not be overly surprised to still get kilo plus bream there today.
Personally I prefer to avoid bream these days and target other fish on lures.
Jack.
I voted other because i wanted to vote "all of the above". You just gotta find the local spot then catch them.

i picked other, since bribie is in the middle of brissy and sunny coast in my book.

id say the true home of the big bream is on the other side of australia in sothern WA. the bream around perth are fricking huge and can get well in to the 50cm mark. tazzy has the monster blacks as well but the size of the fish i keep seeing comeing from wa are in a class of there own. i just wish we had the bream (korodai) like they have in japan. thay get bloody huge. i no ya said qld but i dont see many bigger than 42cm in qld
figjam
the beaches and ocean rocks
and i supose u can say fnq if you count fingermark bream

The surf beach between Teewah Beach and Double Island Point would be the most consistant spot for numbers of big bream in S/E QLD. cheers Wayne.
The biggest bream in Australia are noted by Steve Starling and I have been there my self years ago, it is about 1.5 north of Evans Head NSW you catch them off the beach they are like snapper they are that big.
I just cleaned the oysters, barnacles etc off my pontoon pylons on this afternoon's low tide, and there are some whopper Bream living under it!!
Cheers
Dave
