awsome morning sesh on tweed=bream, jack and wat the?

geez we had some fun today, put my boat in the water and fished the more natural banks way up river. started of by getting a few bream on vx 35sand i also caught some sort of stone fish??? not sure so can someone confirm it.
so anyways i didnt touch the spiny basterd.
as the day got hotter so did the fishing with the bream smaking brawns and our poppers, we had some absolute MONSTERS! come up beind the lures but turn away at the last minute
we came up to a few big trees in the water and there was a guy ancored in the middle (didnt look like he had caught much.
anyway greg hooked a big bream first cast on his vx while i threw a 75mm luckey craft bevy shad. 2nd cast greg caught a pup of a bream and as i looked around to see his fish i was smashed and quikley skull draged a nice size jack from the big tree, looks like the guy was spewin and he started the motor and went off. hahaah was pritty funny. a quick measure and it went only 38cm but it just hit so hard. (i think no matter how many jack you catch it always suprises me how hard they hit!
we kept fishing a bank using plastics and small hard bodies for bream we were getting a few but most were very small.
there was also a big school of mullet on 1 big tree in the water sitting in the eddie it made so again i went for the baitcaster and lobbed a 4inch powerbait prawn on a heavy wire head and after 2 flicks it was hammerd! i could not believe 2 jacks in less then 10 casts on the baitcaster and 40min of fishing and it was 11am!
this time the jack was a little bigger at 44cm but i was still stocked.
the dam jet skiers and wakeborders moved in and spooked the fish so we called it quits

Hey bream nut nice work mate sounds like a great days action. Your little monster there looks almost like bullrout. looks a little big for a bullrout but. Not a stone fish thats for sure looks cod or scorpion fish family.

Nice sesh, great to see the jacks biting so well when the suns up. You must fish nearly everyday....dont you ever have to go to work?

Nice fishing mate....I'd call that ugly little sucker for a bullrout. Great amounts of ouchness in them. You were right not to touch it.

    Top effort breamnut, well done.
Definitely not a Stargazer or a Stonefish, I reckon it's an old, overweight, fat mongrel Bullrout!!

    Cheers Jeff.

you can rule out....stonefish , stargazer , bullrout , a rout it's not as I have had to deal with heeps of them on the trawlers , not sure what that one is but looks like some kind of cod/perch. have a look in grants guide and see if you can ID it.

yer im not to sure on the bullrout because it was pritty dam big,ive caught bullrout in the fresh up currumbin fishing for bass ive done a little work on the trawlers before and there alot smaller (though i suppose there are different species) and it was very spiny, i though stargazer were alot lighter in colour?

I found a wed page that said bullroutes can grow to 40cm I worked on trawlers as well and thats what I think I would be calling it for next time you get one (accidentally) smack it up the side of your mates leg then we will know for sure
