The only problem I had with the earlier ones was the nylon rope hinge always got in the way when closing it and there was no locking mechanisms
Has anyone had any experience with Big Chilli plastic eskies. I''m looking at buying one that will double as a centre seat and esky in my tinnie. Will they take the load of someone sitting on them in bouncy conditions.

I got a 120l One a couple of weeks ago, The castings are a bit rough, but its ok!,
Its strong enough too sit on! keeps the rums cold! not sure about fish yet
willdoe, i have an icytec and it seems strong enough to sit on its a few years old now and has spent plenty of time in the sun and being sat on, as yet no warps in the lid....
Thanks Guys will look into getting one

I have one. I think its a 150L. Pretty happy so far. The quality of the finish is only average IMHO but for the money it is more than acceptable.
paradoxx,
you need more practice mate, more often.

I am looking at getting the mackerel box he has for sale. Very hard to find a long narrow and not too tall an esky for a tinny.
Jack.
I've got one of the little ones and I got it delivered for $24! I think it's like 30L or something... Fits quite a few beers and fillets in it anyway
Fantastic little esky, but the little plastic hinge stays wear out a little bit. Just got to keep popping the lid back on when it's open sometimes. Small price to pay for a cheap as esky but! Definitely keep stuff cold.
i just bought 2 x47lt downunder classic eskys.
i took out back seat and had cushion made to fit them.
ice keeps all day. put 1 bag in each and very happy.
well made and well finished.
paid $190 each
