Think of buying a gazebo style shelter for camping has anyone used one for same? How are they in the wind? Any info would be apreciated. Thanks

have had a couple of different types - they are no good at all in the wind - they are just too light. You are better off with a tarp set up for camping in my opinion

Gazebos are ok for a day trip and you can grab em if the wind comes up - but leaving them overnight is asking for trouble tho they do look spectacular blowing across the flat.

we use one of those screen houses! have had it for 3 years now use it twice a year on the dunes at rainbow! staying 2 weeks at a time and set up the whole time! we have had some ripper storms and it still stayed up! only thing is it will strain the air of all debre!!!!! so the clean up at home is very time consuming!
the last time we went we wrapped a tarp around 3 sides of it! anyway it is still going!

Gotta agree with shano. Have used one many times in some pretty serious wind with no trouble. I guess it comes down to what type you have. I have used one that has holes in the four posts on the bottom for seriuos pegging down as well as the guide ropes. It came with three sides also if you want to really snuggle in.
