Some of you may be interested in my presidents report, in particular the possible changes to the rules of the LONGTAIL Tuna Chase. If you have a suggestion about these rules, please feel free to attend the next meeting and voice your opinion.

Please take note that out meeting venue has permanently changed to the Mooloolaba Coast Guard building and our meeting time has changed to 7:00, the next meeting will be on the 3rd of April as they are now on the first Thursday of the month. The new time and venue will be great for those with the time to go fishing before the meeting, it is possible to pull your boat out of the water and keep an eye on it from the meeting as the venue is on the boat ramp. I will be testing this theory out for everyone; yes, I will be the guinea pig for the team.
This meeting will be fairly centred on Tuna with the lead up to the Tuna comps. We will talk about techniques used for tuna, like tackle selection, Fly selection as well as a tying demo, boat driving and fish handling. We will also discuss the upcoming tournament , as well as this we will accept entry fees and shirt orders , don’t forget the cut off for shirt orders is the 5th of April , no exceptions.
In addition to this, we will be taking numbers for the popular free casting clinics for financial members, this is always popular but numbers will be limited. This is always a success but now that we have three FFF casting instructors on the committee, the group lessons should get a little more one on one.
I have also been asked about accommodation that will handle boats and is within walking distance from the Briefing/ presentation venue and the dinner at hogs breath, try this place, I have not phoned them but they advertise to have all the requirements you need.
