I had a 70hp Yamaha 2 stroke (only 140 hrs on the clock) on my 5.2m centre console & changed to a 90hp e-tec so I had more grunt for bar crossings. The 90 e-tec only uses 2/3 of the fuel that the Yamaha used to use. Definitely go to a Viper prop when setting up.

that may be the case! but you would think that from 70 to 90HP should be a considerable improvement huh! just kind of interested to see whether it was fantastic, a bit more, or bugger all.
Evo001 I run an etc 90 on my stacer 5.25mtr which has done more than 300hrs without any problems at all. I run fom Bribie Island to Hutchinson Shoal and back with running around out there as well using around 40lts per trip which is fantastic fuel econemy.
