If im thinking of going out at about 1-2 is this good on these tides. And can someone please tell me what i should be looking at when thinking about tides when fishing the nerang river and broadwater!

GCC i havent found either tide "incoming outgoing"to be really more productive in the Nerang when fishing for whiting. What you will find is when the tide starts to slow around the turn of the tides you will start getting vermin like toads and catfish. Definately better fishing at night for whiting. 21 whiting last night myself. Cheers Jamie

Hey, thanks, Im only 15 so my parents dont really want me out there at night fishing, maybe in the future i will try but for now ill have to fish between about 5am and 5pm. Will low tide around the council chambers be too low with the sand banks???

Um, im going to go down to sportys and buy some worms (sandworms i think) and ill also try pumping some from my canal, but cant rely one canal worms as there usually very thin and too hard to put on hooks. do u recommend any other baits that are easy to purchase? ohk so tide isnt an issue ill just move around sand banks around the chambers. If i have a pole (instead of depth sounder lol)should i be able to feel the bottom easily and should i only fish on shallow flats?

As youngy said there is no bad time .Its just there is alot more traffic in the nerang during the day which can get abit annoying ,hence the reason i like fishing there at night. Sometimes you can have the place to yourself at night. But find somewhere out of the traffic and you never know day or night. Council chambers may not be to bad as its the start or end of 6knt zone so jet skis and big cruizers cant fly by at 100 miles a hour. Cheers Jamie

If you fishing the Chambers just stay on the inside of bend at red becon. Looking for a certain depth here isnt really necessary just stay inside'this is the sand bank' and move 50m or so if no whiting in 20min or so. Move around within 100m or more either side of red beacon and you should be on some part of the bank. Even try the same spot again if youve moved off it once before, might be worth another try. If your fishing with 3 rods try casting out at different angles to boat. As for bait blood worms are the pick. Never tried sea worms here myself but have been told not much chop. Id be trying yabbies i think before seaworms. If you can get your canal worms they would be good also. Cheers
