What do you think this one weighed , did not even bring him over the side as he was way too big for eating, offshore of the gaol at South West Rocks .Live baiting for Marlin ,great fun but on pretty heavy gear as this was considered by-catch for the day's target.IAN

Cobia wiegh 3.5 kg's on average at the legal size of 75cm ...

what do you mean to big for eating... they are fine to eat pretty much watever size they are. I have eaten them up to about 28 kg's, and at that size I reckon they taste just about the same as a 10 kg one. Just fine.

i caught a cobia 107cm long in rainbow bay that clocked in at 7kg so i would be guessing around that
