    Borumba report

    hey
Well snapperrob (from fishntales.com.au) and his family and myself went to borumba dam for a few days when we got there about lunch time we set up the tent and caravan and headed to the dam for a fish we headed strait for the right arm where we found schools of small toga and a few fish hitting the surface.I was throwing around a white spinnerbait (warriors advice) and it payed off with the first fish landed in the boat a small 30cm bass we casted for a little while longer and i got another 30cm bass then we headed back to camp.
Next day we planned to get up early and head out for bass on poppers but it didn't go to plan and we slept in and ended up out the dam at about 9 O'Clock.
We headed back up the top off the right arm where the fish seemed to be and no other boats where.
We casted for a wile and pulled a few bass all over 30cm and i got the biggest for the trip on the spinnerbait that went 48cm.
Rob and myself stayed out till dark and found a shallow weed bank where the larger bass where and they where more then happy to eat a popper as Son as we seen a boil in the weed we would cast to it ans nearly every time after a few pops and pauses we would get a a bass miss or engulf our popper. The next day we where late out off bed again but we still ended up with quite a few bass on spinnerbaits lipless crankbaits and poppers.
The next day rob went fishing with his dad and son and i took my boat out solo rod got a few bass his son got 6 bass and a yellow belly his dad didn't get a bass but he did get 7 yellow belly i ended up getting 9 bass and my first yellow belly that went 40cm and in the after noon just before dark rob scored a 60.5cm toga on popper in the exact same sticks that i caught bass and yellowbelly earlier in the day.
And today we headed out early for the first time and in a few hours i ended up with 5 bass and rob 2 bass.

It was a good trip even know it rained for a few days but we still ended up getting quite a lot of fish.
Everyone we talked to said the dam was shut down the fish weren't bitting much and it looked like that until we when up the top off the dam.The only only fish we seem or heard off been caught for the whole trip was 2 bass that where caught on bait. All bass where legal except 3 out off the whole trip.
hope use like the pics there a bit dodgy the camera was on the wrong settings

i only caught 2 bass on caltiva lipless crank baits (only used them for a little bit) i just cast them into trees and let them sink and wind back or cast them into the grass and start winding asoon as it hits the water so i dont get grass on hooks.
    good luck
    cheers BK
