Fuel Economy of Four Stroke Suzy

Can anyone here please tell me what sort of fuel economy the 115 or 140 is geting. I heard the 90 HP gets around 3.5 klm per leter. Does anyone here have reports on the 140 or 115 suzuki or other four stroke models.

I am about to purchase so I want some more info, four strokes seem like common sense to me as they last longer, I was talking to a pro he recons he has done 2,500 hours on his 140 suzuki and not touched it, he said it will go from cleveland to tangalooma and back and his crab run on 50 litres pushing a 22 ft plant alloy boat..

Whats your experience with them ?

or do you just want to debait an etec is better ha ha

It's silly to let you know what I get with my 4HP 4 stroke Suzuki (2 hours a litre) but my view is that the best economy in the long term whether in maintenance costs or with fuel economy is with the best motors - 4-stroke = Honda or Suzuki

Ive got a 175 suzuki on my 5.8 dual series fisher with 250l fuel and 4 batteries, it's great on the fuel if you keep it below 5000 revs. I would go the 150 for power to weight ratio your better off.

I have a 140 Zuke on a 550 Fisher. I figure I am getting around 2.5 to 3 kms per liter at about 4500rpm. It has only done 10hrs so I'm not 100% sure just yet.
It did get considerably worse after I hit a turtle on easter friday tho

Wow thats about the same weight ratio as my Viking that is great fuel economy. I am just not sure wether to go the 115 or the 140. I know the 115 is heaps of power but I am wondering I may get a little better fuel economy with power if needed out of the 140.

The 140 is the same weight as the 115 and 90 in the Suzuki brand.

That is god dam empressive, I have an old shitbox 90 Yamaha that is geting about one leter per klm.

But tell me what is the power like, all my mates dog the four strokes cause lacking of power???????????

I have a 140 suzy on a Swiftcraft Dominator, which weighs about 1200 kg. Yesterday we went from Wello to the Four Beacons and used 18 litres sitting on 30 knots. Then the weather changed and the wind picked up. Coming home we were lucky if we got up to 15 knots. All up we travelled 71 km for 47 litres fuel.

These are figures i took quickly last weekend which might help. 140 white suzy + Quintrex 610, Northstar F210 fuel monitor. Donk is one, maybe two holes too low.

Speed is from GPS and readings were taken one-way only in the Nerang river, hence not averaged or corrected for current/wind.

    rpm km/L
    3000 1.54
    3500 2.08
    4000 1.97
    4250 1.92
    4500 1.90
    4750 1.71
    5000 1.79
    5200 1.53

If you go to the seamedia site (F&B) you will get more accurate results of the 140 on a few different boats.
    cheers
